Léonard Gautreau of Pré-D'en-Haut passed away on Saturday July 25, 2009 at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital at the age of 82.

Born on October 6, 1926 in Gautreau Village, he was the son of the late Anastase Gautreau and the late Geneviève Bastarache. He worked as a forklift operator for CNR until his retirement and was a member of the CNR Pensioner's Association and the Golden Age Club of Pré-d'en-Haut. He loved to fish, hunt and to go camping and spent 15 winters in Florida with his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife Auréa (LeBlanc) Gautreau; two daughters, Jeannine (Rhéal) LeBlanc of Belliveau Village and Huberte (Eugène) Gaudet of Dieppe, one son, Léandre Gautreau of Pré-d'en-Haut; two brothers, Aldéric Gautreau and Edgar (Hermance) Cormier both of Halifax; six grandchildren: Martin, Serge, Réjean, Claude, Christian and Nathalie; two great grand-children: Rémi and Danika; one sister-in-law Florence and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Clarence.

Visitations will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, with the Funeral Mass to be held at Notre Dame de l’Annonciation RC church, Pré-d'en-Haut on Tuesday July 28 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
